No Sugar 3-Ingredient Fruity Popsicle With Mango Watermelon

It's summer time and we need something chilling to beat the heat. But I never have chilled water even on hottest days. Of course, it's not the safest thing to do. Nevertheless, I can still enjoy ice cream - my favorite since childhood. I still remember the Khoya wali kulfi that we used to have. The nostalgia surrounds me when I still hear the sound of any ice cream vendor.

Anyway, cutting the long story short. I decided to try a no sugar ice cream. I had 1 cup of watermelon and wanted to include it. Then I had a few leftover pieces of a mango, which wasn't completely ripe. Of course, you will always find hung curd in my stock.

I took the watermelon pieces. Threw them in the food processor and adding 1/4 cup of hung curd and 1/2 mango. Gave everything a churn until I got a pulpy (more watery) mixture. Poured the mixture in ice cream moulds and set them in the freezer.

The next day took these no sugar beauties out and enjoyed! Taste more like khatti meethi toffees that we used to have during childhood. These are more on the sour side than sweet. If you want these sweeter, please add sugar. I didn't because I like it less sweet :)

Ingredients for No Sugar Kulfi

1 cup- watermelon (de-seeded)
1/2 mango - ripe (mine was half ripe)
1/2 cup- hung curd (here's a quick way to make hung curd- no cloth required)
1 tsp- honey (optional -I didn't add)
black salt or spice mix of your choice (optional) - you may even add jaljeera powder for a spicy punch

You may want to try another of my favorite no sugar, no cream nana ice cream. Check the recipe here.

Ever imagines how to make curd without curd (with almonds) बिना जामन के दही ? Well, I am sure such use of almonds as a curd starter is nowhere in your thoughts, right? Perhaps we are not used to thinking on these lines until it happens incidentally and you want to share your experiment with others. Perhaps as a Punjabi, born and brought up into a Punjabi family, I have that special love and fondness for curd. My parents have inculcated in me good eating habits - home food is the best, they would day, preach and practice. This has become ingrained in my thoughts. I detest outside food, and yes, I dub it as market junk. One reason I love all homemade stuff - mommade food is the best. But w
