No Cream No Sugar Mango Oats Kulfi

mango oats kulfi
After my friend Ritu had tried the mango oats ice cream, I thought of giving it a try. I wonder if anybody, except Ritu, would think of such combination. But she is a big oats lover. Rightly so, her focus is on healthy eating and health food.

I added oats to my kulfi a couple of days back. It did not disappoint. Rather, I loved how oatmeal adds that creamy layer to the kulfi, without the need to add cream. This means this recipe gives you no extra calories from cream while offering the benefit of fiber. No health freak would ever want to miss this mango kulfi. Will you?

Anyway let's come back to the healthy dessert recipe.

Ingredients
1 mango -pureed
1 tbsp- oatmeal (you may dry roast oats first - I didn't)
2 tbsp- thick/hung curd (check the above  video to learn how to make instant hung curd at home- no cloth, no hanging required)
1/2 cup-milk
1 tsp- roohafzaah/rose essence (you may add more since we are not including sugar in the recipe - I like it less sweet, so added 1 tsp)
almonds/nuts

  1. Mix oatmeal and milk. Keep for boiling on slow flame. Let the mixture thicken like a gravy.
  2. Meanwhile puree mangoes.
  3. Let the oatmeal milk mixture cool down.
  4. Add the milk-oatmeal mixture to mango puree, hung curd, and roohafzaah. Run the grinder for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Take out and pour in kulfi moulds.
  6. Garnish with almonds.
  7. Chill for 4-5 hours and enjoy.
  8. Check my badaam oats kulfi here.

I have also experimented with another healthy dessert recipe - mango oats peda. Check the recipe here.

Soak for at least 6-8 hours to make digestion easier. Discard the soaked water and then proceed to the next step of cooking. Making Dahi Without Starter | बिना जामन के दही | How to Make Curd at Home Without Curd

Ever imagines how to make curd without curd (with almonds) बिना जामन के दही ? Well, I am sure such use of almonds as a curd starter is nowhere in your thoughts, right? Perhaps we are not used to thinking on these lines until it happens incidentally and you want to share your experiment with others. I am happy to say that I have experimented with making curd without starter and it gives me creamy and sweet curd. बिना जामन के दही | How to Make Curd at Home Without Curd A Little About my Curd Love Give me a bowl of rich, creamy curd and I do not need anything else on my dining table. Perhaps as a Punjabi, born and brought up into a Punjabi family, I have that special love and fondness for curd. My parents have inculcated in me good eating habits - home food is the best, they would day, preach and practice. This has become ingrained in my thoughts. I detest outside food, and yes, I dub it as market junk. One reason I love all homemade stuff - mommade food is the best. But w
