Roti Pizza

roti pizza without yeast
Looking for a healthier version of pizza? Yes, this one does not look like one, but it still is a healthier way to relish the desi version of the Italian delight. I made roti pizza - with whole wheat flour and sattu (black gram flour), oats, capsicum, and onion.

This is a no cheese, no butter pizza, since I wanted to avoid all the buttery part and make it completely healthy. I did not even add tomato or tomato sauce, since a dear one is fighting allergy from tomato. Nevertheless, to give a little tangy flavor, I added lemon juice, coriander powder, and curd as topping.

The best thing: hubby liked it as a healthier snack.
What more could I ask for?

Here is the super simple recipe:

Whole wheat flour: 1/2 cup
Sattu: 1/2 cup (you can skip sattu and use wheat flour)
Curd: 1/4cup
Salt: as per taste
Oil: 1/2tsp
Warm water: as required for kneading dough

Mix flour, sattu, salt, and oil. Add curd and mix well.
Add warm water to knead dough.(should be like roti dough, but not sticky)
Keep it aside for 15-20 minutes.

Toppings
Onion-1
Capsicum-1
Black chana - 1/4cup (you may skip this)
Oats- 2 tbsp (optional)
You may add tomato and any other vegetables of your choice.
Coriander powder- 1tsp

Let's make roti pizza.
Take an iron/nonstick skillet (tawa). Roll one ball of dough. Make sure it has to be thicker than that of roti. Roll in the form of a thicker roti. Grease the upper side with oil. Use a fork to make some incisions in the roti. Place on tawa. Keep it on slow flame. Turn the side of the roti after 2 minutes (if it looks uncooked, you can cook that side for some more time).
Top the roti with the toppings. If you are using butter or cheese, this is the time to add.
Then cover the roti with a cover. Let it cook for some time until the lower side turns little hard.

That's it! Your roti pizza without yeast is ready!
