  • fiber-rich oats (did you know a fiber-rich diet can prevent the risk of cancer and metabolic disorders)
  • vitamins and healthy fat-rich almonds (did you know almonds are rich in healthy fats that raise your HDL cholesterol levels - which are good for your body compared to LDL- that are bad fats)
  • homemade ghee (well, frankly, I do not use too much of ghee in my healthy recipes- however, this is instant 5-min ghee)
  • mineral-rich jaggery (no refined sugar)
  • magnesium-rich watermelon seeds (also rich in potassium, iron, calcium, zinc that are excellent for your skin, hair, and heart health while playing a role in the metabolism of carbs in the body, thus helping regulate blood sugar levels)

So let's come back to the healthy cookie recipe, that too on tawa but you can easily bake these in an oven/otg, convection or airfryer.

For this recipe, you need:
oats cookies tawa


Ingredients
1/4 cup- oatmeal (powdered oats)
2 tbsp watermelon seeds (or any other seeds at hand/ or even nuts)
2 tbsp- homemade 5-minute ghee/clarified butter
1 tbsp- milk at room temperature
2-3 tbsp- organic jaggery powder (make sure it is dry and finely powdered - check this video to see how to use jaggery for baking)
1/4 cup- almond meal (there's a video link that will direct you to instant almond meal recipe without soaking)

How to make Refined Sugarfree Almond Oatmeal Cookies without baking powder, soda



The tawa cookie recipe without baking powder, soda is quick, simple and healthy.  On top of it, these use no raising agent. This gives you crunchy cookies in no time. So let's see how to go about making these baked beauties on tawa.

Mix all the ingredients, except milk.
Mix well.
Then add milk and gather the ingredients.
Please do not KNEAD. Kneading will result in gluten formation, which will give you chewy cookies.
We are not aiming for chewy cookies without baking powder, soda, right?
So forget kneading and simply gather the ingredients.
Make small/lime-sized balls.
Press all gently, without applying too much force.

Meanwhile, preheat your oven/airfryer to 170 degrees for 10  mts.
I have done these on tawa, so preheat your tawa by placing an iron skillet on the stovetop and then putting the greased baking tray/nonstick tawa on top of it.
Place cookies at an even distance from each other on the tawa.
Cover and cook on low flame for 5 mins.
Flip sides carefully and again bake for 4-5 mins.
These oatmeal cookies without baking powder, soda will be done quickly. So keep an eye on to ensure  cookies do not burn.Cover with a kitchen towel with flame off for 5 mins.
If you are doing this in an oven/airfryer/convection, bake for 8-10 mts.
Let the cookies to cool down and you have melt-in-the-mouth goodness ready in a jiffy!
