This no onion garlic roasted chana masala with boiled black chickpeas is one of my favorites. I love to pair it with paratha and halwa. 

How to make bhuna kala chana

you will need to make the ultimate spice mix first
2 tbsp- homemade coriander powder
1/2 tsp- jeera powder
1/8 tsp- hing
1/2 black cardamom
1/2 tsp- red chili powder
1 green chili
1/4 tsp ginger powder
1/2 tsp homemade amchur
1 tsp homemade roasted kasuri methi
1/2 tsp fennel seeds
2 tsp boiled chickpeas
2-4 tbsp water





Let's prepare the hing jeera chana masala first

Mix all these ingredients and keep aside.
Heat 1 tbsp mustard oil.
Add 1/2 tsp of jeera.
When it crackles, add the masala paste and sautee.
Add little water when the maste looks roasted and the aroma of spices fills your home.
Add boiled black chickpeas. Mix well.
Turn off the flame. Garnish with cucumber, fresh coriander leaves, green chili and even paneer.
Enjoy jeera chana masala with rice, roti, paratha, or poori. Or just relish the bhuna chana masala as a delicious snack for an added protein punch.
