How To Make Bajra Roti at Home for Weight Loss

All you need is bajra/pearl millet and water.

This post is an answer to: how to make millet roti at home, millet roti without flour, how to make millet roti with whole millets.

Let's get started with this easy way to make bajra roti at home!

Begin with rinsing and washing bajra well.

Soak overnight.

Rinse again and discard the water in which the millet had been soaked because there are nutritional inhibitors in that.

Next, grind to paste with little water.

Cook the bajra batter on a low flame stirring continuously unless the batter turns into dough.

Cover and keep aside for 30 minutes (minimum).

Now let's start making bajra roti. Roll out a small ball into a chapati using dry flour of choice.

I have used amaranth atta for this purpose as I do not have bajra atta handy at the moment.

Drop the roti on a hot tawa or skillet. Keep flame low. Flip side and cook as you would cook a normal atta chapati.

Turn the flame to high when the bajra chapati is ready to puff. Smear little ghee on the bajra fulka to prevent it from drying. The thirsty pearl millet roti will drink all of the ghee that you put on top of it.

Enjoy with curry of choice. I paired bajra flatbread with cauliflower potato curry and paneer masala. Yumm!!! Heavenly and it does not feel heavy too. Enjoy this gluten-free chapati.
