Badam burfi/almond katli ingredients
Almonds 20-30
Sugar/Jaggery powder- 4 tbsp
1/4 cup-water
Number-8-10 badam burfis

Procedure to make almond fudge

  1. Make almond meal. Soak almonds in hot water for 3-4 minutes ...wash them with cold water and blanch them. I dried them on gas stove in a heavy bottomed pan. Let them cool down a bit and then grind them to powder.
  2. Mix water and sugar powder and put on stovetop.
  3. Let it simmer.
  4. The sugar syrup will thicken immediately.
  5. Add almond meal to the thickened sugar syrup.
  6. Mix quickly until it forms a ball.
  7. Take out on a greased plate or on aluminum foil.
  8. Press with a heavy utensil.
  9. Let it sit under the vessel for an hour.
  10. Cut into pieces and enjoy delicious, simple badam burfi.
  11. Makes a perfect fasting snack.
  12. This badam katli stays good for days, since there is no milk involved.
