Of course, when on a diet, you need to check your overall intake, especially of sugar, fat, and carbs. However, it's still better to include fiber-rich complex carbs in your diet, because fiber will help keep you feeling full for longer. That means fewer food cravings. When you do not crave for a snack, you are bound to eat less of simple carbs that come from maida, sugar and all things unhealthy.
When a cookie is made sans trans fat (read saturated fat), then it ought to be a perfect accompaniment for your sugarfree tea for weight loss. As usual, the cookies are refined sugar free. One cookie at a time does not mean guilty indulgence.

Ingredients: What Goes Into Diet Cookies for Weight Loss

1 cup- oatmeal (1 cup= 175 ml)
½ cup- whole wheat flour
4 spoons (I used regular spoons here)- oil (I have used saffola sunflower oil/ feel free to use any seed oil/olive oil)
3 spoons- hung curd/Greek Yogurt (quickest way to make hung curd..click here)
4 tsp- cane sugar (I do not buy white sugar anymore - raw cane sugar is way healthier, since it has natural minerals that are otherwise lost during processing of white sugar)
Cinnamon powder and fennel powder
Pinch of rock salt/mineral salt
Nuts of your choice (I have used toasted almonds and sunflower seeds to top the cookies)

A Little About Raw Cane Sugar

You get raw cane sugar as a byproduct from sugarcane processing - here goes the list of byproducts --
first, sugarcane juice -
then molasses.-
heated molasses give you jaggery
since jaggery has some impurities, it is refined to make raw cane sugar -
further refining gives you brown sugar -
final refined product is white sugar
bura is powdered white sugar

How to Make Weight Loss Cookies

Take a bowl and add oil and hung curd to it.
Throw in cane sugar.
Add salt, fennel powder,  cinnamon powder, and whisk very well until the mix gets nice and fluffy.
Does it look light and fluffy?
If so, go ahead to the next step.
Take a strainer and sift both flours well. The more the better.
Add the flours to the oil mix and mix.
PLEASE NO KNEADING REQUIRED HERE.
We are going to make a crunchy cookie batch and not a chewy one here.
Kneading will help form gluten and your cookies might turn out chewy.
So the idea is to mix everything and leave it covered for half an hour on the kitchen counter shelf.
Throw in the toasted nuts.
After 30 minutes, the dough would look beautiful and should have absorbed the wet mix.
Let's go to making weight loss cookies with the dough.
Either roll out into a thick chapati or make lime sized balls.
Do not play with the dough much now.
Make cookie shapes and bake at 170 degrees for 12-15 mins.
I have airfried this batch of weight loss cookies with oatmeal.
Airfry the cookies at 170 degrees for 12 mins. If they look unbaked, airfry for a couple of mins more.
Allow your weight loss digestives to cool down completely before storing them in an airtight container.
These are perfect munchies for your tea time.

Can we use the soaked water for millets? Does millet need to be soaked?

Do millets contain anti-nutrients? Yes, they do. In fact, all whole grains, including oats, contain phytates, which bind to minerals and make their absorption difficult for the body. Soaking is the first step toward reducing anti-nutrients from millets. Soak for at least 6-8 hours to make digestion easier. Discard the soaked water and then proceed to the next step of cooking. Remove foam from top to reduce gassy elements from millets.  How long should millet be soaked before cooking? Soaking the millets overnight is a safe practice. Soaking breaks down the phytic acid in millets or for that matter grains and nuts. Phytic acid hinders the absorption of minerals and nutrients in food, including calcium, iron, and zinc. How? Phytates bind to minerals and nutrients and make their absorption difficult in the gut. Your tummy finds it tough to digest millets in that case. So soaking millets and draining off that soaked water makes it easier on your tummy.  Are millets safe for thyroid? Does

How To Make Jowar Roti Without Breaking With Rolling Pin at Home [Sorghum Flour Recipes\Benefits]

Is Jowar good for weight loss? Is Jowar better than wheat? Is Jowar good in summer? Is Jowar good for thyroid? Is Jowar better than Bajra? Can Jowar be eaten everyday? Well, these are some of the most common questions people ask about sorghum flour. Well, sorghum benefits health in more ways than one. First, if you are wondering how to make jowar roti without breaking with a rolling pin at home, let's dig into it and see how to do that easily. The method I follow for making soft, fluffy jowar rotis came up in my mind after my successful trial of ragi jowar chocos at home. I was making sorghum flour chapati earlier as well. Back then, I would struggle to gather the dough and it would often break. But this method has been a revelation of its own. I am happy to share it with you all.  Jowar is heat or cold  Jowar or sorghum has a cold potency so that means you can enjoy it during summers as a coolant. I won't mind enjoying jowar or sorghum flour recipes during winters too because
